Classes and events

PADOC holds classes three times a year beginning in September and ending in the spring.  Each class runs for 8 weeks.  The classes start at puppy classes and go right up to classes for competition.
In the summer we hold informal fun sessions for members or anyone who would like to join us in parks or at our homes.
Training your dog never stops!

See below for information on our classes.  Please call 705- 876- 8708 and leave a message if you are interested in a class.  Linda will call you back.  This is our registration form for classes.

This is a fundamentals class. The class is designed to be an introduction to basic manners for young dogs with no previous experience or training. We will learn sit, down, stay, leave it, come when called, polite leash walking, sit nicely for petting, and greeting of other dogs. We will be training using positive reinforcement. Students will be encouraged to use a clicker(although not mandatory), and rewards will be treats and toys. Please bring a flat collar, harness, or head halter and a six foot lead as well as your dog's favourite non-squeaky toy and small soft treats.
Learn how to bring out the best in your dog by using positive reinforcement training in a class designed for dogs that have never taken a training class before. Throughout this eight-week course, we will teach you how to set your dog up to succeed. You will become your dog's teacher as they learn how to sit, down, sit nicely for petting, walk nicely on leash, greet other dogs politely, leave it, stay, and come when called, and we’ll have some fun with doggy sports and teach them some tricks. Learn games that are actually a training session in disguise. This is the class your dog will thank you for taking. Do you want a well behaved dog that comes when called and stays where he is told to? Do you want a dog that will quietly stay put when company arrives? As long as you are prepared to do the work, we are committed to providing you with the dog of your dreams. This eight-week course uses traditional, time-tested training methods, building a relationship between you and your dog using a 'choke' collar, praise but not treats
